About Chynna
Wife, mom, singer, songwriter, actress and Jesus influencer Chynna Phillips Baldwin was born to musicians John and Michelle Phillips of famed 60’s group The Mamas and The Papas. She is one part of the iconic pop trio Wilson Phillips with number-one hits in the 90’s such as “Hold On” and “Release Me”.
In 2019, Chynna fulfilled her dream of starting her own Christian YouTube channel, entitled “California Preachin” After a year of reading off a teleprompter and heavy editing, California Preachin’ went from scripted to completely raw, capturing her daily honest Walk of Faith. During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the channel started to grow exponentially in subscribers. Her videos often feature her husband of 25 years, actor Billy Baldwin, in a segment, they refer to as “Chilly: Chynna & Billy.”
In 2022 Chynna began California Healin’, a weekly live meeting that offers a support system for women on their faith journey and includes ongoing groups chats, morning “Word Feasts” (aka reading the Bible together). California Healin’ continues to evolve as more and more women seek healing and community, with new groups forming regularly.
It is Chynna’s dream that any woman who desires to feel more connected to God and to others will have the opportunity to join Our Jesus Friends online community at any time of day or location around the world.
Genesis of a Movement
How We Got Started
Our Jesus Friends was born out of Chynna’s own personal journey of faith, where she deeply felt the hunger for connection and community. She then began her first group of women who gather weekly online to support one another in their Jesus Journey. This group is appropriately named “Genesis.” Our Jesus Friends continues to grow, with more groups forming presently.
As Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them,” we believe in the power of community and connection in the name of Jesus.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible word of God
...As written in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," we look to the Bible as the foundation of truth and guidance in our lives.
We believe Jesus is the only Son of the one and true and living God
...who was born of a virgin through immaculate conception and lived a perfect, sinless life, fulfilling all the requirements of God’s holy laws. He went willingly to the cross, suffered, died, and rose again for the forgiveness of sins for all of humanity and the gift of eternal life. We believe the free gifts of forgiveness and eternal life are received by faith in Jesus Christ alone, as affirmed in Ephesians 2:8, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God."
We believe that God exist in three persons...
...The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is received at the time of salvation as a Helper who guides and leads us to live the Christian life, just as Jesus promised in John 14:26, "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
The role of Our Jesus Friends is to support one another on our Jesus Journey
...We are not a church, but we support the search for deeper faith and connection with Jesus.
